Chance Me: PEA, PA, L'ville

I’m an Indian Male from NJ.

Grades:

Language Arts - 87 (B)

Math (High Honors Course) - 87 (B)

Science - 93 (A)

Social Studies - 91 (A-)

PE - 100 (A+)

Band - 100 (A+)

Innovation and Design (required elective) - 96 (A)

French - 93 (A)

7th-grade grades - All A’s and A+'s with one B in Science last marking period.

I’m very interested in politics and applied mathematics (particularly infinite series)

I’m very good at tennis (played for ~6–7 years) and have played clarinet for 4 (I play in my school band, another jointure band, and am auditioning for my school’s honor band this year).

I got in the 96th percentile on the SSAT.

I’m a person with great leadership qualities who can influence my peers.

A Boy Scout (First Class), I also was chosen as one of two students from my school to attend a JrNLYC leadership conference in DC.

I participate in many school clubs and lead the debate and chess club.

Any feedback would be great. Many people are saying my grades are a little on the low side. However many have said my quite above average SSAT score may balance it out. I’m also going to talk about why I didn’t perform as well as I could have as a part of why I want to go to school.

I’ve looked around a lot and seen many different people’s applications. They all seem like such accomplished perfect (grade-wise) people. Do you guys think I even have a chance? I just feel like I can’t compare.

P.S. Forgot to mention I’m full-pay.

Didn’t you ask this already or am I loosing it?

You certainly have a chance. But realize that you’re applying to 3 of the most selective schools out there.

How good are you as a tennis player? Do you have a national/state ranking? Have you spoken to the coach? That could help seal the deal.
