Chance me please :D

I'm thinking of applying to Columbia and Stanford, but I'm not sure.
My SATs: 640 Math 660 Writing 660 Critical thinking.
I know these are apparently dismal, but I'm going to retake it and study this time.
770 on CHM SAT subject test

Classes taken (11th and 12 grade):
1 year of General Chemistry at the local community college
1 year of University Physics
1 semester of Biology
1 year of History
Precalculus and Calculus I (going to take Calculus II in the spring)
I semester of Japanese
College composition classes 1 and 2
Drawing
Self-Defense

other than 5 college credits, I haven't taken any other foreign language. Is that bad?

I'm graduating with a 4.0 and Associate's degree in Arts and Science. I've taken 69 college credit hours

EC's:
Work for local community college tutoring services - Tutor for MTH, CHM, PHY, ENG, and other subjects
SI (Supplemental Instruction) Leader (kind of like a teacher's assistant) for one of the chemistry professors.
Tourguide Hostess - providing tours of old houses around Old Town, Fredericksburg VA
Teacher's assistant for local church's religious classes
Volunteer helper for parish coffee shop (clean up spills and tables, do dishes)
Volunteer for outreach program at local community college (welcome high school students to campus and answer questions they might have about being a college student)
Civil Air Patrol cadet Staff Sergeant - Cadet of the Month

I have a glowing recommendation from my chemistry professor, who said I was one of her best students in all her time teaching.
I want to go to medical school.
When I see this, I think of all the valedictorians who get rejected, and who have far more impressive EC's than this. The only other card I have up my sleeve is that I just turned 16, but I don't know if colleges consider that. I don't really want to spend 85 bucks on an expensive rejection letter.

Chance me, please! Perhaps someone who is applying to these schools or has a kid going there? Thank you!!! ;D

Well, I don’t do chance threads because I know that unless someone is egregiously under-qualified, no one can “predict” admission chances with any degree of accuracy. That being said, I think you should absolutely retake the SAT I’s and you’re going to need another subject test. As for being 16, it can go both ways, believe it or not. It serves the college no purpose having someone who might be intellectually, emotionalyl or socially immature on their campus. Most colleges would prefer that the student not have skipped year(s) and performed at a higher level and matured more during HS. The exception to this if they feel that the kid is so intellectually gifted that holding them back would be a real disservice to them. Perhaps, you are one of them.

Good luck on the retakes and with your college aspirations!

I didn’t know that being young could be a disadvantage. I was hoping being a tutor for college courses would establish my maturity (I’m usually mistaken for 21.) But thanks

Don’t give it a second thought, it’ll probably work in your favor.

I redid the SAT. Couldn’t get higher on the math, but this time 800 on CR and 720 on Writing.
