Hey everyone! Chance me for UMich, UCB, UCLA and Georgia Tech.
I'm an American citizen going to school in India.

SAT score- Not taken
SAT subject tests- 2330 780 Math 2 780 physics 770 chemistry (Engineering applicant)
ACT- 34 (35M 33R 33E 34S)
School GPA- This is where it gets a little skewed, since I go to school in India, we get graded on 0-100 in 11th and 12th.
I had a 97% overall in 11th and about 95% so far in 12th
courses- Math, physics, chemistry, computer science, english and French.
My school is INSANELY hard; we have classes till 5 o'clock everyday and it's very Science oriented.
AP scores- Self studied Calculus and micro, 4 in both.
Letters of reccomendations- Stellar.
Essays- Pretty good I guess, they're being read by a few of my friends in college and my english teacher.

ECs-
1) I was head of my school Model UN team that I created in 9th and 10th grade. We participated in about 6 Model UNs. I was assistant director for the WHO in one of my MUNs and I won Honorable delegate in a few,
2) I was part of the school debate team as well, I won best speaker at one of the debates we attended.
3) My friends and I also started an NGO in our city where we collected newspaper and sold it and raised money for an orphanage near where we lived; I hope to take this farther during the summer.
4) I was also a sales intern for one of my friend's Educational Consultancy. I raised over 10,000 rupees in sales for them.
5) I have a diploma in French from the Alliance Francais Bangalore, I got it in early 11th grade.

And a bunch of other things here and there.

I'm an engineering applicant to all of these places.
Thanks a ton!
Will chance back.

I think you have a very good chance of getting into all of those colleges. Your ACT score is very qualified for getting into those colleges. Don’t worry too much just make sure your essays are strong

Your scores and ECs are all excellent for the schools you listed. I’m curious why you’re an engineering applicant, since the ECs you mentioned are leaning the other way towards business/politics/etc (do you have any math/science activities?) I think you are able to get into these schools, given that your essays are good :)

I think you are very competitive at all of these schools. I would say that all of them are matches, and UCB might be a reach. It’s difficult for me to truly chance you because I’m not familiar with the grading practices of India. Best of luck to you.

How much can your parents pay? Have you run the Net Price Calculators and shown them the results?
Since you’re OOS for all the public universities, this will be a crucial part of your admission - no point in applying to a school you can’t afford.

You’re a qualified applicant for all of those schools. UCB would however be a high match; especially if you’re applying for financial aid- are you? Essays will be super important there. Also, an 800 in MathII would have not gone amiss for engineering but 780 is fine.

-From another American citizen in India familiar with Bangalore MUNs (damn, 97%)

An OOS state applicant? I don’t understand. I thought you needed to be a current citizen of Cali in order to qualify for ELC and reduced tuition.

You need to be a resident of California and attend a California HS to be eligible for ELC which is top 9% of HS class or state. ELC only guarantees admission to a UC (UC Merced) if you do not receive an acceptance of a UC of your choice. Also OOS students receive little to no financial aid from the UC’s. You need to be full pay…

@avix215 I’m eligible for FAFSA and I can still submit my CSS. It won’t hurt my chances (since I’m a US citizen) but I’ll probably get 0 to very little aid from the university itself (since I’m NOT a cali resident)
