<p>I am indian asian and I go to William G. Enloe HS (ranked top 100 schools in the nation) and my GPA:
UW - 3.23
W - 4.23</p>

<p>I'm in state and for NC State I have to declare my major. I am applying for Human biology - College of Agriculture and Life Sciences (CALS) and Chemistry - Physical and Mathematical Sciences (PAMS). The PAMS school is the most selective then comes the buisness school and then comes CALS. Do I have a shot at CALS or PAMS? Chance me please NC State is my number 1 choice.</p>

<p>ACT - 31 composite:
English - 27
Math - 32
Reading - 28
Science - 36
Combined English and Writing - 26</p>

<p>AP Tests: Chemistry - 4, Calculus BC - 4, and US history - 3</p>

<p>Taken about 11 AP/IB classes and 11 honors classes mostly B's with some A's sprinkled through</p>

<p>Around 350 - 500 hours of volunteering during all years of high school</p>

<p>EC's:
AP scholar, Mayor's award - for over 100 hours volunteered and receive a picture with Mayor Bell, Volunteer over 200 hours at UNC and Duke hospital, Internship at Division of Public Health - have a scientific paper to prove it, shadow a neurologist, shadow a general practitioner, Chess club for 4 years with officer position, attended a residential program at NC State and took an intro course in microbiology and biochemistry, etc.</p>

<p>I hope you realize how low your UW GPA is, I’d say you have a shot at all the colleges you listed, but Duke is a definite reach.</p>

<p>That is some epic grade inflation. As you said, mostly B’s but some A’s. </p>

<p>You should be fine to all the state schools, but Duke is a reach.</p>

<p>That ACT is really unbalanced, and is probably the weak part of your app - and that’s not including your 3.23 GPA…!!!</p>

<p>You got 36 in science. Well done. Then, you proceeded to fail the rest of the exam. What more can I say about that? It’ll stand out to adcoms, and the last thing you need is adcoms really looking closely at those subscores…</p>

<p>Dear Rahvinthecold,

  1. Idk about you, but the last time I checked, a 31 ACT is impressive.
  2. Science is probably the hardest section on the ACT. To get a 36 is outstanding.</p>

<p>It’s ******s like you who ruin the whole concept of CC.</p>
