What about chances for:
Harvard
Brown
Williams
Middlebury

Quick question: What’s a Norwegian refugee camp? Why would Norwegian people need to become refugees?

Many people seek asylum in Norway because it is so safe. The Norwegian government, takes a very long time (a few years, sometimes) to decide which people/families will be allowed to stay in Norway and become, and which will be forced to leave. This is a very stressful, tedious and unsure time for the families, and they are mandated to stay at “Mottaks” which translates into English as “Refugee Camp”.

I work their once a week helping teach English, playing with the kids, working in the kindergarten, and just keeping the extremely bored residents occupied.

Yale is a crapshoot. Your SAT is low.

I think you should stand an excellent chance. Your extracurricular activities are very impressive, and the fact that you’re a legacy will obviously be in your favor. I am somewhat confused, though, by how you already have your IB scores. Are those projected? Also, if I’m understanding this correctly, you’ll have been in some type of secondary school for five years? Why?

Also, although I definitely think the odds are in your favor, as texaspg has already pointed out, Yale is a crapshoot. All HYPSM schools are crapshoots.

All IB students apply with predicted grades. That’s just how it works, since we don’t get our results until August 2012.

I have been in secondary school for five years, because I got this incredible opportunity to go to Norway to study for two years for free. RCNUWC is a two year school–grades 12 and 13. However I’ll go to college with a full year of college credit.

Hah, congrats on possibly getting in anywhere you want.

Wow, your ECs are very impressive, and the UWC scholarship meeting tons of international students sounds like great exposure too. Your IB predicted grades couldn’t be any better (literally lol), and your legacy status will help. I think you’ve got a good shot! Bump up the SAT 1 score though, to around 2300? Might be safer. Write great essays and get good recommendations and I think you’ve got a very good chance.

Caveat: I am obviously no admissions officer so this is just my unprofessional opinion!

May I ask how you managed to start the ski organization? It sounds great, I’ve been wanting to start a volunteer/social work org too in Singapore but am not sure where nor how to start. How did you get the contacts (parents?), how did you get people to trust you at such a young age, and probably most importantly, how did you get the funds??? What related experiences did you have before getting into that, what kind of things would you recommend an aspiring social entrepreneur to start with?

Also, how did you start your literary magazine (at SUCH a young age), how did you find a publisher, and get contributors from all over the country and world?

Congrats on what you’ve achieved so far. Good luck with apps :)

mckibski - Ah, my apologies. I forgot that European countries tend to go up to grade 13.

It’s interesting that your IB results come out in August; I’m quite sure mine come out earlier. It’s also not common practice at my school to apply with predicted IB scores, but seeing as I live in the middle of no where, I guess it’s unsurprising that things are different internationally. :stuck_out_tongue:

Anyways, good luck! I hope to see you in two years.
