* I plan on taking the October SAT I to boost my reading and writing scores.

Math Level 2: 790

EC:
1. Various hours of volunteer.
2. Teaching mathematics to first grade students to SAT level students.

My areas of interest are: business, accounting, computer science, and management information systems.

I'm taking AP Calc BC and AP Economics senior year.

Even if you don’t get your CR up, I’d say you’d have a pretty good to very good chance.

A little weak on ECs, that’s the only serious flaw I see. The CR shouldn’t be too much of a problem.

The admissions lady when I visited said they don’t really pay attention to the writing. I raised my CR from 580 to 700 by studying the hell out of vocab books and reading a lot of news articles.

Yeah I talked to an admissions rep and they said that the importance of writing is contingent upon your major. So it’s obviously not as highly regarded for science/math majors as it is for English/history, etc. majors.

thanks guys

I would encourage you to look at the 2015 Admission thread as there were people that got close to perfect scores on the Math part of the SAT and close to or the same CR as you that did not get in. It seems to me that you should be able to improve your CR score enough to make it in. Good luck

Thank you :)!

wats the 2015 admissions thread ?? i cant find it

Delmonico, I believe the title of the thread is “You’re the One that we want”. THere are also some that responded under “SOM only”

Because you have such a large discrepency between your M & CR scores on the SAT, I’d advise you to take the ACT. Where as colleges have to report both CR & M scores from the SAT (and your CR score will bring their average down), they only are required to report the composite score of the ACT. This may benifit you.
