Chance me please!

At this point, I really don't know where I stand in relation to colleges. Any advice or comments would be greatly appreciated <3. Since I'm the first child, no one in my family has any clue what to think. The load of B's especially in my sophomore year really makes me sad.

Thanks so much!

I’m not really familiar with how difficult it is to get into a Biomedical Engineering major at any of these schools, but in general these are your chances at these schools. I would assume it’s harder to get into such a specific program at any of these schools though.

Carnegie Mellon: Match
Northwestern: Reach (ED if you can)
UC Berkeley: Low Reach (You’re in CA right)
Columbia, Stanford, MIT, Cornell: High Reaches and practically no chance at MIT it’s impossible to get into their Engineering program.
All UCs: Matches mixed with safeties
Johns Hopkins: Reach
University of Washington ( St Louis I presume): Low Reach - Reach
University of Wisconsin - Madison: Match
Drexel: Safety

Consider some schools like maybe Emory, Vanderbilt, Boston College, etc
U Mich also has a very good Engineering program but it’s very competitive.
Good luck and chance back if you can

thanks guys!

Where is your home state?
It seems you can afford those $60/year schools as you have those on the list and you are not likely to get need based aid. You should add UMich to the list.
Your GPA is around, or slightly below, average for these top engineering schools. But your overall credential is competitive. At least a couple of your dream schools should be low reach and Berkeley may be a match to high match if in state. Other dream schools would be reaches just like for most students.
For the second list, JHU would be a reach too but they have great BME program. UWisc would be a low match. UIUC would be a high match. If you add UMich to it, it would be a low reach to high match.

You’re application looks pretty stacked, but I have a question. Were your core classes honors or college prep? Other than that your academics are fine. I think Stanford needs 3 subject tests so watch out for that. You should try to give yourself a particular definition or path of how you chose biomedical engineering amongst all of the subjects you’ve been through. That would definitely be something to know for your essay and interview. All of these schools are mainly reaches just because of their unpredictability and reputation. Nonetheless I think you are a strong candidate for all of these schools.

@billcscho thanks for the suggestion. I’ll add UMich.
@alwayssona‌ I wrote out my full transcript and the core classes that are listed as honors or AP were honors/college prep. I’m taking SAT Physics this weekend, so i’ll have 3 subject tests. Thanks for the suggestions on essays.

@radgurl1397‌ No problem! :)
