Hi everyone! To preface this, I know that CC has a ton of these posts - but I’ve really been feeling anxious about my chances to get into my schools so any feedback would be amazing.
Right now my target schools are JHU, NU, Vandy, UC Berkeley and other schools of that vein. My expected major is either philosophy or economics and for almost all schools I will be applying OOS. My stats are as follows:
SAT I (breakdown): 2160 single sitting (780/M 720/W 660/CR) 2220 Super (780/M 720/W 720/CR) - Expect to get a 1500+ on the March SAT, but it hasn’t been released.
SAT II: Taking them in May and June but my expected scores are above a 750 on both US and Math 2
Unweighted GPA (out of 4.0): 3.7-3.8 (yea ik…)
School doesn’t report rank but should be in top 10%
AP : World history (4), Stats(5), Taking USH, Physics and Lang right now (I’m a junior)
Senior Year Course Load: AP Physics 2, AP calc AB, AP Lit, AP Micro, AP Macro, AP Comp Gov, AP Psychology, Advanced research program

National Debate/Forensics:
NSDA(National Speech and Debate Association) All State, NSDA Academic All American, NSDA school ambassador to the national committee of policy making, School team debate captain, Ranked within the top 40 in the nation for Lincoln Douglas Debate. Top NSDA point scorer on our school team(we have one of the biggest teams in the state), Received octofinalist (top 16) or better at the following national tournaments (All had competitor pools of about 200): Harvard, Yale, Stanford, Princeton, College Preparatory School, Scarsdale. Qualifier to the NSDA and NCFL national tournaments and 2 time NDCA National tournament qualifier. 4 time state qualifier. Selected for a writing fellowship to a major debate news site and will be authoring an article on philosophy that will be published.
Extras:
-2 time DECA state qualifier, 1 time international qualifier. Finished as top 10 in the state sophomore year and placed third in the state junior year.
-JV tennis in 9 and 10 and was captain my sophomore year.
-5 time selection to All County for Bass-Full NYSMA completion -Only underclassman accepted to CW Post Graduate Ensemble
- Consistently selected for Honor roll/member of national honor society
Job/Work Experience: Work over the summer at a local grocery store, paid private tutor, Intern at a local law firm
Volunteer/Community service: Volunteered 100+ hours at local hospital
Summer Activities: Attended debate camp for 3 years, intern, work
