For starters, I am a three sport athlete; I was blessed to be part of the state championship team for wrestling, state runner up in division one for football, and fifth in the state for judo. In addition to sports, I participate in Model United Nations where I have been a contributing member for the past six years. When I’m not at club meetings, I practice the trombone in which I served as the principle chair in my school’s concert band. Also, on the weekends and summer I volunteer by picking invasive algae from the ocean surrounding my hometown, in Hawaii. I also volunteered for my school’s summer school to teach third graders how to become leaders in their own lives through sports and other activities and I occasionally acolyte for my school’s chapel services. Coming from both a Native American and Native Hawaiian background, I spent my childhood learning the values and traditions of my Hawaiian heritage. (As for my Native American side, I know little, but I do know I am Lakota Sioux and would listen to my grandmother speak about her experiences growing up in South Dakota. I have very little knowledge about my Native American heritage, but I feel I have a moral obligation to keep my heritage alive and learn as much as I possibly can about the tribulations Native Americans have experienced and still have been experiencing since their first contact with Europeans.). My gpa is about a 3.23 and my SAT score was a 1340 and my ACT was a 31. freshman and Sophomore year was a difficult time for me because of family circumstances, but I truly tried my best. As for awards, I have been graced by receiving multiple Service Awards for my contributions to my school for the past three years. I also was a member of my school’s economic team who placed seventh in the state at our annual economics challenge

I have applied to SMU, TCU, Fordham, Indiana-Bloomington and University of Oklahoma and have gotten accepted.

I am still currently waiting to hear back from:
Stanford
UT Austin
Boston University

Can you chance me for these schools?

Stanford is completely out of reach. Sorry but there’s no chance. BU and UT are reaches but possible. You have a good list of backups though if you don’t get in those!

Ah you know what I really hope for the best and can only grow from this experience! Thanks for the honest opinion @strafed. I’ll be sure to update this thread as soon as I find out (I’m not delusional I’m just trying to be positive)
