Chance me RD to Carroll

you have a shot. like I just posted here for someone else, at the ivy and many top schools, hook is important. I don’t know if that is true at Bosotn, but hook is what seems to get many people in. your act 28 is fine - probably like the top 95% of people taking the test. The post above about equating it to the SAT is not exactly on point as you need to look at what percentile your score puts you at. On the ACT score report, you will probably see something like 95% right next to your 28. (I don’t think that is true of a 1280 on the SAT - which is probably much lower than 95%, but I don’t know that for sure. Anyway, I think schools look at that more (the percentile ranking of your score) than equating it an SAT # or vice versa, which is based on a concordance study done many years ago. Just my opinion.
If it helps any, I know someone who just got into dartmouth with a 29 act and no hook. so you never know. Top schools, even HYPS, do accept applicants with high 20s on the ACT if there are other parts of the application that are outstanding. UPENN Wharton last year accepted the second ranked kid in the senior class at another high school near me last year with an ACT 29, again no hook and no urm or anything special - except being # 2 out of about 600. So you never can tell what a school will do.
Your stats are good. But there is no lock at the ivies or other top schools, even with a 2400 / 36 4.0. Top schools have plenty of top applicants. Having some kind of hook, strong legacy, superstar athletics, is real important at HYPS etc. Better to be a 3.0 with an SAT 2000 with super strong/generous legacy instead of a 4.0 / 2400. Yeah, you need some decent grades/scores to get into top schools. But at those programs, the hook is very important. They reject many 2400 / 4.0 applicants every year and accept many with much lower scores/grades. All this, Just my opinion. Good luck.

Ronakmp:
You’ve repeatedly bumped at least 30 thirty times for various schools over the past few months. You’ll get better information if you change your “bumping” into a specific question.

upon request of jpm50 to change from bumping to something… can someone chance me?

unfortunately there is not much you can do now, apps are in, the decision is in the hands of the admission officers, and all that you could have done is done; no point in chancing your admission anymore

someones getting desperate.
