Hey guys, I’ve been looking at Stanford since 7th grade, and I’ve visited the campus multiple times. My father also went to Stanford and actively donates to the Stanford trust.
I’m looking to pursue Public Policy as major, and I’m the only one in my school who is applying for this major.
Here are my IBDP grades in the end of 11th grade:
English Literature HL: 6
History HL: 6
Economics HL: 7
Spanish B SL: 6
Maths SL: 7
Bio SL: 7
39/42 and around 3.86 UW GPA
My predicted grade will be 40-41/42 (I can safely predict thus). So probably 42-44/45
(My biggest drawback) SAT: 1430
(I will probably write the ACT)
Academic Achievements:
•I consistently score in the top of my class in each of my subjects
•Great letters of recommendation (Great relationship with teachers)
ECs:
•Internship at Tech firm for 6 weeks where I analyzed costs, revenues, etc and provided reports and solutions
•Attended 7 Model UNs, won at 3
•Organized School’s MUN program
•Chaired 2 MUNs
•Head of School’s MUN club
•Write and publish in school’s economics magazine
•Volunteered at Cancer Facility (35 hours)
•Went around neighborhood and collected donations for the facility (3,000$ worth)
•Volunteered at Blind School (25 hours)
•Encouraged people to register to vote in my locality for the state and district elections
•Encouraged people to segregate their waste in my locality
•Leadership camp in Thailand
•Been learning Drums since 6th grade
•Upload drum covers and original songs on YouTube
•Formed a band with my friends and performed on numerous occasions
•Made 600$ worth from gigs, gave to charity
•Run a blog about Morality and Politics
•Played in school’s Basketball tournaments
Jobs:
•Dog Sitter?
Drawback:
Ethnicity: Indian
School: Extremely competitive private school
What do you think my chances are? Should I write the ACT and get 33+ or stick to the SAT score and get more ECs down?
I might instead do UPenn or Georgetown ED, but I’m still not sure @-)
Was your father an undergrad or grad at Stanford?
are you applying REA?
