<p>I'm finishing junior year now, but I figured it would be interesting to see what my chances are at columbia SEAS early decision.</p>
<p>Female. Hispanic. Chicago private school.</p>
<p>Grades:
3.5 average gpa for past 3 years (I screwed up soph year). This is (I think) the weakest part of my app. Spanish is my weakest subject.</p>

SAT chem: 700 SAT math 2: 730 SAT physics: 760.
APCS: 5 AP Psych: 5. Probably gonna get a 4 or 5 on physics.</p>

<p>Recs:
pretty good one from math teacher, she's an alum of columbia. The math class is the hardest class in the school and I got an A.
CS teacher will write a spectacular one. I've done multiple independent studies and will be working with him even more next year.</p>

Policy debate team captain - 4 years - nationally competitive, quall'd to the toc, more than 35 hours per week spent on debate (probably even more-I haven't counted recently).</p>
<p>President and co-founder of letters for peace - 4 years - raise money and write letters to children in middle eastern war zones.</p>
<p>Varsity science team - 4 years - envirathon competitor and mentor.</p>
<p>Spectrum (gay straight alliance) member - 4 years.</p>
<p>Community theatre at acting studio of chicago - 4 years.</p>
<p>Started my own business teaching elderly people basic computer skills and started a computing class at a retirement center - 3 years.</p>
<p>Volunteer at vital bridges - 3 years - provided people with hiv/aids with groceries and employment services.</p>
<p>Restaurant busboy - 3 years.</p>
<p>Camp summer counselor - 2 years.</p>
<p>Going to enter siemens competition for cs.</p>
<p>Attended a poli sci Mearsheimer class at the U of C, and an algorithms class at the U of C. Probably going to attend more next year as well.</p>
