Other classes I am taking or took are:

I am going for full IB Diploma; so far got a 7 in Math SL and 6 in Spanish SL.

I am a national merit scholar.

My subject test so far are:

Sports:
I played JV Soccer (9, 10) and Varsity Soccer (~10 moved up mid-season, 11, 12), and Varsity Tennis (9, 10, 11, 12). We won stac west (regional championship) in 9th grade and 10th grade for varsity. and we got to semifinals for section iv AA division for 11th grade. I am also on a club soccer team and play soccer year round (winter, spring, summer). We won many tournaments, and were league champions.

Music:
I have played piano for about 11 years, violin for about 4 years, and trumpet for 9 years.
I am in the band, marching band, and symphonic band...my marching band went to London for the new years day parade.

Awards:
I won school awards for AP Calculus, and other sciences. Plus all the school Top 10% of the class, and academic excellence awards that are typical.

Clubs:
I am on the math team, interact (which is community service), class council, national honors society, and student council. In math team, i got first, second, and third places for regional competitions, and first for all team competitions.

Volunteer:
At hospital; also had an externship with pathologist and radiologist
Volunteer work at this lake for research for microbial organisms.

Recommendations:
Probably will be good, my teachers and counselors know me pretty well.

Also, I'm asian (which probably won't work to my advantage).

Are you from CA?
I heard that people from CA have better chances at Stanford.

Also, do you have any major award?

Impressive. Just don’t sound so cocky on your app… Won’t get in then

Would not say your chances applying to Stanford are good especially given your ethnicity. Although academics are obviously good, ECs are weak given that you’re applying to Stanford. You’ll be competing with people who have major awards and better extracurricular involvement, which is a concern b/c of the number of high achieving Asians in your state. Don’t lose hope, you may have a chance depending on the essays, recs etc. but, don’t expect the best.

Obviously you are very well qualified but not sure if any EC sets you apart. If you can write a wonderful essay, you have a great chance. where else are you applying. I have heard caltech picks up a lot of strong academic kids that tend to be looked past by Stanford.

I guess playing soccer for Stanford wasn’t an option, too bad, you’d be a great fit.

I got 770 for bio M and 760 for chem subject tests  i know i could’ve done better for biology, had many silly errors after checking the forum. also chemistry, i just didn’t watch the time.

anyone else want to chance me?

Stanford chances are hard to make. As we have indicated, you will definitely show up in their radar due to the high scores. Noone can predict whether you will get in or not. What we can predict is you are not somebody they will ignore. You have the stats to get in…hope your essays and recommendations are good. Again, just apply, quit stressing

If it makes you feel better, dream schools are dream schools but there are plenty of kids (mine included) who just don’t care about Stanford (maybe growing up in the area has something to do with it)
