We understand! But it's more important that the adcoms do, and THAT depends on how you portray your problems on paper to them! They are humans and they understand the students, the admission process is not machine-graded .. there are finer emotions attached to it. Kudos for being such a brave guy!

my dad thought it was a really bad idea to make the admissions people cry, so I put a much milder version on my app; well i'm screwed

It's not about making them cry .. it's about presenting yourself in the best light!

hi!
so i was thinking about my dear sweet st. aegis and i thought of something!!!!!
do you realize that stanford does not look at your freshman year of high school?
so you said that you got straight A's sophomore year and then a lot of B's the other years
so wouldn't that bring down your GPA drastically in stanf's eyes?

i meant to say
"...straight A's freshman year..."
<3 ya.

its the other way around, perfect a's freshman year and pretty much alot of b's elsewhere, although junior, it started to climb....

yeah, i am screwed :]

no you didn't understand me
if you got all a's freshman year but no other year
and stanford DOES NOT look at your freshman year of high school
they will only see your bad years
making your 3.65 gpa (or whatever it is) look much, much lower
or am i wrong?

the gpa i provided was without freshman year, i explained it to them in the additional section, but I hear they dont read that either
the only other ironic part of that is my senior quarter grades were all a's

ohhhh gotcha
then maybes they'll sympathize
ideeks just thought this was worth mentioning!

Sorry bro but I don't see it happening with your current GPA/rank/ACT score. Still apply though, you never know.

the act is now a 34......
800 physics sat ii
but yeah the gpa is killing me

Oh well with that ACT you have a much better chance. Congratz.

You= weaksauce. man up. Although that 34 is very nice. What was your AMC/AIME? MIT and Caltech ask for those scores as well. I've been in scouting for almost 11 years now (close to my eagle, mind you), and I don't think I've ever come across an Eagle Scout as close-minded as you. You shouldn't be an Eagle Scout nor a Boy Scout for that matter. Good day sir!
