Oh boy, I could fill this up with a page, I was pretty much in a disadvantaged scenario for most of my sophmore and junior year. I have notified my colleges of this, and perhaps they will understand Audtion:really good piano audition, the auditioner liked my playing and he spend some time tlaking with me, asking me, so will you continue music @ stanford that sort of stuff......

Yeah just critique it, I know there isnt much for me, but I only have hope,
anyone think I might be deferred or even accepted?

i dont know where all these people are coming from that use "ego" in their posts and act like jackasses.

you know that chancing doesnt mean anything, but it looks like your gpa and ACT is too low. Your guidance counselors rec is very important, the fact that you dont know yours very well might hurt you. What it comes down to is whether your essays and your recommendations prove that your driven and unique and belong at stanford, because without these there is no shot at getting in.

wait primarily GimmeStanford didn't even have anything about SATIIs in his response, Hippo, so why are you getting defensive?
in face I agree with GimmeStanford. You have great EC's and everything, but Stanford is one of those colleges that say that the first thing they look at is GPA and test scores. So good luck buttttt idk.

no, the reason why I say no hope is because of my gpa standing, otherwise I wouldnt bother asking anyone to chance me.
Its not my skewed view, because I am working against hundreds and thousands of people whose GPA standing is much above my head.

hiiiii
um, I just say that because at my school we've had a lot of college reps, including one from Stanz, come to our school and give presentations and answer questions
and every time I ask what they look at first, they all say GPA and test scores.

theyre system of admits is tricky though.
our valedictorian from out school, capital of varsity soccer, 1400+ SAT did not get in, so you really never know

ya this is why I am scared I wont make it; even with my situation, getting a bunch of B's during junior and sophmore years (hell I was surprised I managed to get a B,didnt turn in my HW, didnt study :P), I dont think stanford will accept me, maybe defer me, that I am confident in. sigh

let me explain my situation in a very easy fashion.
you might stare at my gpa and say holy cow=phail, but I assure you its more complicated than bad grades. I will recite it to you; I have a really disabled sister, she is mentally retarded and she nearly died during my sophmore and junior years. She suffered from simulataneous diseases, like Leukemia, pneumonia, ARDS, seizures etc. It was really bad, my parents wanted me to stop school so I could support my brother, and my family nearly went broke (can you imagine 4 million in hospital charges, lucklily insurance covered most of it). My mom nearly lost her job, and we were already trying to pay off a loan. My parents were never home, I cooked, I ran erands, did laundry, all the housemaiden work, I talked with my brother's teachers for parent teacher conferences.Heck, in a way I can almost say it was a near family collapse.
In the end my sister pulled through. You think getting sick for a month is bad and writing about it to colleges? I was mentally depressed for 2 years and I never told my teachers or my friends!, meh they still dont know (except for a few)
That was how bad my situation was.
It doesnt matter now, cuz I am getting hella good grades now, but yeah, I told a milder version of this on my app. I hope yall sympathize
