Your course-load is a little light compared to many of the applicants who also loaded up on APs in their sophomore year. Your GPA is also lower than many of the competitive applicants, most of whom had only one or two Bs with a 3.8-4.0. ACT is also low, to make up for GPA you’d want to be at a 35 or 36. ECs are pretty basic, nothing really stands out. Looking at just this, while on paper you are a great student, you aren’t super competitive for UChicago, especially when it comes to extracurriculars which is what separates the Valedictorians and 4.0 students from each other. Don’t cling on to UChicago though, its a very competitive school once your there and many of the students don’t truly enjoy themselves. Keep your options open! Look into Boston University, your stats are more in line with theirs and it is also an amazing school in a similar climate with similar standards.
I think you’ve got a great profile. Being URM really helps a lot. Dean Nondorf has been known to have a soft spot for rural kids. They also have an outreach to kids in TX. Might be the same for OK.
Highly suggest you apply ED1 if Chicago is indeed your first choice. Chances are much higher. Also definitely do the optional video profile. It can help tip things in your favor.
