Capped weighted UC GPA also? https://rogerhub.com/gpa-calculator-uc/
You are definitely a competitive applicant and best of luck.
All 3 UC GPA’s are considered by UCB and UCLA. Overall you are a competitive applicant but neither school is guaranteed. Do you have any safety schools on your list? Other UC’s?
2018 Freshman admit rates for UC GPA of 3.80-4.19 capped weighted and not major specific:
UCB: 10%
UCLA: 9%
You’re right in that nebulous area. Great test scores and activities which helps even out your GPA somewhat. Your essays will probably the tiebreaker. It’s definitely a reach but you’re in range.
Other UC’s on my list are UCI (Biomed) and USC (Biomed); Im also applying to Cal Poly for Comp Sci as another safety and CS at UT Dallas probs
Is there anything other than essays such as activities that could push me over the edge in terms of my application?
How does AP CompSci get both Math and Language credit? Unless my reading comprehension has failed me.
Cal Poly SLO with a 5.6% acceptance rate for CS is not a Safety, but a Match.
AP Comp Sci for our school is kind of like a dual credit AP (idk why its like that) but yeah for us it offers 2 credits for both a Math and Language credit. And abt Cal Poly i didn’t know the acceptance was that low for CS so thanks for informing me. Yeah it would def be a match then. And again is there anything else I could do besides essays in terms of EC’s or something to improve chances at UCLA/Berkley because my 10th grade took a big dip because of some family issues which I will work into my personal statement but still want to make up for otherwise.
OP, USC is not in the UC system.
Also if you are a California resident, UCs will know how to count credit and there is no way that a Computer Science class fulfills both math and FL credit. Something isn’t adding up for me.
And I think a California resident should be able to spell the name of city in which the premier UC is located.
Yeah lol you’re right I just listed California resident because I lived there for 7 years and we still have a house there so planning on applying as “in state” due to higher admission rates. Sorry for misspelling Berkeley btw it was 11:00pm.
But idc too much about the credits I just want to know based on my stats and if I have decent essays if I could get in
Please check whether “owning a house in California” is recognized as sufficient to be considered an in state applicant. The UC webpage has explicit definitions for who they consider to be instate residents.
If you are not attending high school in California, did you take that into account when calculating your UC GPAs? Only AP/IB courses at OOS high schools get a gpa boost when calculating the UC GPAs.
As an aside, I’ve thought that OOS applicants had a higher acceptance rate, but lower enroll rate due to the OOS tuition rate and lack of scholarship dollars available to OOS applicants.
To be considered for in-state UC tuition rates, you and your parents need to be residing in California 366 days prior to matriculation to a UC which means you should be living in California as of now. If not, then you might find it difficult to receive the in-state rates.

An as stated in the above post, only AP/IB or UC transferable DE courses will be weighted in the UC GPA calculation for OOS applicants, not HS designated Honors classes.
I calculated my GPA based on just AP’s, Honors courses not included. The residency thing is a bit shaky so worst case scenario ill apply out od state. But yeah I just want to know with those stats what are my chances and if anybody knows about Dartmouth (Its my dream school) please chance me! Thanks!
