Chance me University of Chicago, Will Chance Back

So I figure that I should get started early in the admissions process. I'm entering my senior year in the fall. I would like to be chanced for Wellesley, University of Chicago EA, Northwestern, Colgate University, UPenn, and Amherst. I have safeties don't worry lol.

Class Rank: 4/122
ACT: 32, but 33 superscored
GPA: 4.0 UW
I have taken 1 AP class (The only one my school offers)
AP Lang & Comp 4

Extracurricular activities, not very many I know.
Key club 4 years - Treasurer my junior year and likely president senior
Quiz Bowl 3 years - B-Team Captain junior, likely A-team Captain senior
Science Bowl 2 years - Captain
French Club 4 years
Band (marching, pep, concert, jazz, and show) 2 years
NHS - 2 years

Volunteer Experience
100+ hours at a local community center
Church related activities - Food pantry, children's church.
Volunteering at track meets

Hooks
African-American, female, first generation college student. I go to a really bad school so I don't know if that will help or hurt me, I'm from the Appalachian region I don't know if that will help either.

BTW Should I list that I've been playing piano for 10 years and trumpet for 7 even though I am not a member of any ensemble? A lot of my volunteer activities are church related, but I plan on putting no affiliation on my application should I avoid doing this because it might make me look contradictory or like I am not really committed?

I forgot to mention that my family income is around $60,000.

Bump

You’ll need SAT subjects for Penn and Amherst.

I think the fact that you are an URM and first generation will really help your chances and you have a solid GPA and ACT. Just by reading your info above I didn’t really get a sense of what your passions are (music maybe, or church stuff?) but I would pick what you are really passionate about and base your essays off of it. I think you have a really good chance of getting into some of the schools above (U Chicago may be heard tho but I think you can) primarily because you are a stud student in a not so good area, your an URM and first generation and are involved in the community. You will need to take some SAT Subjects also but Im sure youll do fine! Good luck this fall! Chance me? <a href=“What are my chances for Stanford, MIT, Caltech, etc. - #9 by theanaconda - Chance Me / Match Me! - College Confidential Forums”>What are my chances for Stanford, MIT, Caltech, etc. - #9 by theanaconda - Chance Me / Match Me! - College Confidential Forums;

I thought the subject tests are only needed if you submit SAT scores not ACT?

Chicago and Penn are the hardest on your list, but you could realistically get into one of them. The rest are high match/low reach I think.

Solid GPA and ACT, you’ll need SAT subject tests for Penn however. Ethnicity and being a first gen college students significantly increase your chances. EC’s aren’t very special, do you have any notable leadership positions you’d be able to emphasize? Also, Penn likes to see initiative within its applicants. If you’re able to find something in your community that could use some work, try to better it in some way and include it in your apps.

Wellesley: Match
University of Chicago EA: Low reach
Northwestern: Match
Colgate University: Don’t know about this school
UPenn: Low reach
Amherst: Match

Good luck! I’d really appreciate it if you could chance me back please
