One last thing that I should mention is that my older sibling attends Notre Dame

Thanks :)

Anyone? Please?

I think you’ve got a shot. Your ACT score is slightly below average (http://admissions.nd.edu/admission-and-application/admissions-statistics/</a>), but that is something you can work on. As for your ECs, I am very impressed with your accomplishments there., good luck

ok, thanks :)

I agree with Shawn. Try retaking the ACT to get it up to 32 or 33. Or try the SAT. Good luck

your class rank puts you in the 93rd percentile, which on average is a bit below Notre Dame, but could be pretty good. Where do people in the top 50 typically go to school from your high school? if your school uses Naviance that could be a better tool than random people on the internet. Overall I would say the biggest thing you could do would be sign up for 1-2 more ACT tests and work over the summer to bump that score up. Good luck!

Howdy! I am extremely impressed by all your high school accomplishments. You should be very proud of yourself! As others have mentioned, based on Notre Dame’s statistics, your ACT scores are a trifle low. However - and I cannot stress this enough - test scores really aren’t everything at ND. They’re looking for a motivated and well rounded student, which you seem to be. ACT/ SAT scores are only useful at a place like ND because many thousands of students with nearly identical records apply annually; sometimes it takes a test score to make or break one’s chances. For that reason, if you’re serious about being a future Domer, I would suggest you either retake the ACT or try your hand at the SAT. (Despite what many say, I actually found the SAT to be infinitely easier of the two!) But I would maintain that your chances are pretty solid…

Good luck!

I agree with Horatio: practice both this summer, find the one you like better, and bump up that score. Keep your grades strong- it’ll probably be better to apply regular so you can take it a few times and not be stressed that it’s your last chance to take one of the tests- and you’ve got a strong resume. Good luck!

ok, so the running theme seems to be retake the ACT. However, I have taken it 3 other times. My first practice test was a 21. I studied, took a few more tests, moved up my score, and then this last one test ended up being the superscore of all the practice and real tests I’ve taken. Should I keep trying with the ACT, or is the SAT easier to take?

Our HS guidance counselor said that of the people who take both the SAT and ACT, 1/3 the people do better on the SAT, 1/3 do better on the ACT and 1/3 do the same on both. So if you think the SAT might be a better exam for you, by all means give it a try.

I would absolutely try the SAT to see how your scores compare.

While this may be intuitive, don’t just walk cold into an SAT test: a lot of taking the SAT is knowing how to take the SAT. This you’ll find applies much more to this specific test as compared to the ACT. Do a few hours of practice of the crit writing and math to get a knack for it, then take a full test. Look at your math and crit writing score, and see how it compares to your act. If you can get a 1440-1480, it’s worth studying more and taking 2-3 real tests. If you walk blind into an sat test, you’ll perform much worse than if you part a few hours understanding how to take the test. Good luck!

My stats are similar. Would anyone be willing to chance me? I would really appreciate it.
I have a 4.331 weighted, 3.93 unweighted GPA. My school does not rank.
I will have taken 6 APs by graduation, including Calculus, Statistics, and Economics.

I am currently in Germany for a trimester. I am working at my aunt’s kindergarten, taking classes at a school, and trying to further my knowledge of the language to hopefully become fluent one day.

meh812 I’d recommend starting your own thread, that’d simplify things.

ok thanks, ill try to take to SAT and see where it goes from there. thanks to everyone. Also, does anyone know if I change my job will that will affect my admission counselors decision?

did u get in?

@prosquad1 OP hasn’t been active in nearly a year. I checked his/her posts, and there is no indication of whether or not OP got in, so I doubt you will get an answer.
