Middlebury will be the most difficult one, but you stand a chance. Give it a shot.

How about Boston College, my dream school? Do you think my chances there are really good?

bumpity bump bump bump

I got a 730 on physics if that changes much

I actually think Middlebury is a “reachable” reach, so to speak. How close are you with your teachers?

UMich is the hardest if you’re not instate.

If Middlebury is reachable, does that mean I pretty much have BC in the bag?

Haha yeah i’m in MA, I’m don’t really care for UMich, but I kinda threw it on there. I guess i’m not expecting to get into UMich lol

@supercilious I’d disagree with your statement about UMich being the most difficult since the applicant is from MA. Out of state admission for UMich is about 15%. For Middlebury it is 17% overall. That includes Kansas, and South Dakota, etc. that means if you’re from a state like California, New York, or Massachusetts your chances are significantly lower than the overall rate. I’m totally guessing, but for MA applicants (especially girls) the acceptance rate for Middlebury is likely below 10%

Would you so Boston College is a guaranteed in for me?

I think you stand a decent chance. At this level, there is no such thing as guaranteed.

Boston College: Match
BU: Match
Bates: Match
Colby: Match
UConn: Low Match
Northeastern: Low Match
Connecticut College: Low Match
uMich: Reach
Middlebury: Reach
URochester: Match
Umass Amherst: Safety

One aspect of your application that I think may harm you is an ostensible lack of leadership in your ECs. Your ECs alone are average, but in my experience, top colleges like to see applicants taking an active leadership role in clubs, teams, and community service projects, rather than just “participating.” Other than that, though, I think your stats are very solid. Certainly you have shown rigor and you have succeeded in challenging courses, and your test scores are good. What ethnicity are you, if you don’t mind my asking?

I’m Persian lol

I mean I am an event organizer and kinda a youth leader at the iranian association of boston

One thing I forgot to say is that I tutor freshman in biology and geometry

Which is kinda leaderish lol

My parents went to college in Iran, so I’m a first gen US college student if that changes much

All of your colleges are matches except maybe Michigan and Middlebury. I think the jiu jitsu is interesting and unusual so if you write a memorable essay on that, your chances go up significantly. Chance me?
