At the end of last year and at the beginning of this year I had a struggle with my anxiety and depression which lead to me needing to seek help, causing my GPA to be much lower than my potential. Currently though I am really learning how to deal with this, along with balancing school things and grades.

You’re a sophomore, there’s no need to get worked up yet, but you do need to work on that GPA. You ECs look good, but that GPA is going to hurt even some of those aren’t too selective.

I’ll go ahead and list what I’d say for each school.

NYU Tisch: Mid reach/dependent on objective stuff

USC: High reach

Emerson: High match/Good chances

Columbia Chicago: Great chance/Safety

UCLA: Mid to high reach

Pratt University: Great chance/Safety

Would you mind chancing me for Carnegie Mellon, Emory, and Northwester?
-----------------------Sorry in advance, this is a bit long.-----------------------

GPA: 4.0 UW / 4.7 W
ACT: Composite 31(Superscore 32) English 30 Reading 33 Math 33 Science 28(I just can’t manage the science)

EC’s:

Reddr0p, you grades and ACT scores are overall really high, but you do need to add some more extra curriculars, because you need that along with the scores. I’m not sure what you want to be, but make sure you take classes or do clubs in what your passionate about and will be pursuing. Good luck!

Most of those schools require at least a 3.5 GPA to even have a chance. Try your hardest - it pays off I promise.
