Senior year doesn’t count for UCSD. Always apply if you want to attend, but your chances are low at this point. I’m sorry.

don’t count yourself out but it’s a high reach for you. make sure you apply to the other UCs (irvine, davis, sb, sc are probably matches)

You should also include how many and which APs you took.
I had a 31 ACT, 4.2 Cum GPA (my GPA never dropped below a 4.0 all four years), I had 21+ hours a week of drama, 3 years varsity swim, etc. and I was still denied from UCSD. I appealed, however, and am an incoming freshman this year.

UCSD is tough, but I’ve seen people with worse stats than you get admitted. Sometimes it really is luck.

i took 1 AP sophomore year (Euro history) and got a 4
2 honors junior year (chem and spanish)
and taking 3 APs Senior year (Go-po, stats, and spanish)

freshman nor senior grades don’t count towards uc gpa. So in actuality you have a very good chance at getting in. good luck.

i think you’re one of those on-the-line applicants - good chance in, good chance out. it helps being a minority, varsity volleyball looks good, and the upward trend is very positive. if you have any special circumstances like single-parent household, low-income, etc. that all helps too. right now you should focus attention on your essay. based on numbers alone, you have a lowish-average chance but with a good essay you boost your chances not only at SD but also UCB and LA. people with statistics like yours who write top-notch essays can get into any UC, from what i’ve seen. so good luck writing your essay!
