If you’re a sophomore, it’s pretty early and little more can be said than the following:
Get the highest test scores you can.
Take calc and physics. (AP Stat and Enviro are fine, but they are among the “soft” APs; not nearly as challenging as AP Calc or AP Bio/Chem/Physics.)
Your ECs look fine, but are certainly not exceptional for the top schools. Be EIC of the yearbook, if possible (I know it might not be).
And yes, your ethnic background will be a plus; I just can’t say how much of a plus.

I’m a junior also interested in applying to Tufts, and the biggest thing I have learned so far is to get involved deeply with something- volunteering, a club, anything. But do it to your heart’s content.

Also, study hard.

As for test scores, aim for around 2200 + on the SAT

Good luck!

thanks for the help! yeah, im considering taking AP calc ab over stats in senior year. it MAY be possible to be eic but our adviser has terrible judgment so… i’ll see how that goes. the one thing i can see myself getting really involved in would be my own culture, actually (lol). hopefully i’ll be able to find volunteering opportunities and perhaps start a club aside from just SNHS. thanks again :)
