Obviously still have to wait for this year's AP scores...lol!
I'm Indian (not Native American, brown Indian lol), middle class, California resident, one older sister who will be graduating from college in 2013...my chances?

Your AP scores aren’t going to matter. Obviously the hole in your resume is math. I know that it doesn’t seem fair that low math scores could keep an english major from being admitted but it could. I suggest that you take the ACT, most students who have a large CR/Math discrepancy (in favor of CR) tend to score better on it.

csdad - Thank you for the advice! I wish I could, but I’m not so sure I would score better in the other parts of the ACT. I am planning on taking Math II in the fall, hopefully as some sort of redemption.

mmaatt - UW 3.7, W 4.3. I’m in the top 4% of my class.

Pretty low chances RD. 2 on AP IS going to look bad no matter what, but most of the focus should be given to SAT I scores.

I would say that if you are an EDer, you might have a decent shot because you would stand out with your ECs and dedication, but in RD those scores really hurt despite your grades.

Beauty of the ACT is that only the total score counts because that is all that colleges have to report on their common data sets, the math 610 hurts you because it is below the 25th percentile & both it & the CR must be reported by the college in their common data set report. You can survive a lower math subtest score on the ACT if the total score is high enough.

They don’t release the %tiles for the accepted students - only enrolled, which is lower than the accepted and yes, go for the ACT at this point.

at first i thought that that would mean that the average SAT scores would be lower, but as soon as i posted it i realized that was stupid. so nevermind.
