Chance me :)

Your GPA is a tad low but your EC’S cancel them out. Those ECs are great and, if your SATS are good I’d say you have a great chance of making at least one of them

This was hinted at before, but you probably want to take either SAT Math I or II as your second SAT subject test, depending on how advanced your math was. If you’re stronger in algebra/geometry, do SAT Math I. If you tend to make “silly mistakes” and have a strong foundation in pre-calculus, take SAT Math II.

Your SAT score will give you a more accurate “chance”, as you SAT/ACT scores are one of the main things colleges look at. Good luck!

Your GPAs/tests aren’t the strongest, but your ECs are amazing! I see a lot of focus in the neuroscience portion, so I feel that will really help your application. Most top schools really take into account the ECs, so I’m pretty sure you’ll get into at least one of the schools that you want to!

I’m trying to get a really high GPA this year (I’m a junior) so that my cumulative will be a 94. Is that considered a solid GPA? (it’s a 3.9 I believe?)

Your EC’s make you stand out. If you can get a 2250+ on your SAT, you’re a very strong applicant. Ivies are still a reach for you (unless you cure cancer).

Columbia - Reach
UPenn - Reach
Barnard - Hesitant to say Match, but I’d be surprised if they rejected you
NYU - High match / Low reach

awesome stats ! GPA is great, and 2200 + on sats is definitely amazing ! i would say u got an awesome chance at all 4.

You have great EC’s and if you can get 2200 on your SAT’s then I’d say you have a great shot at the Ivies and even better at NYU

You’ll need that strong SAT, but you look fine. Try to take every opportunity to raise that GPA, even a little.

Barnard - Good
NYU - Good
Upenn and Columbia both have that ivy impossibility, but if you have a good SAT and good essays there’s definitely a lot of hope!

Thanks guys! I’m just really really concerned about my GPA…

Barnard: Low reach
NYU: Match
UPenn: Reach
Columbia: Reach

I don’t know if your school has class rank, but if it is very high that will excuse your GPA. It looks like you make a lot out of a little at a small school, and that you are an extremely motivated person. If you do well on your SAT’s then you will have a very good shot at these schools.

Columbia: Reach
Barnard:Good shot
NYU:Quite likely
UPenn:I believe you have a good shot here, I know it’s an ivy, but its possible.

Columbia: reach (it is for everyone)
Barnard: high match (it’s basically a backdoor into Columbia. I’m sure you knew that)
NYU: high match
UPenn: Reach

your gpa is kind of low but your EC’s make up for it(:
I want to study neuroscience too and Columbia/Barnard are great places for it. Have you considered Brandeis? It’s a really good school with a great neuroscience program as well.

What’s your class rank? If it’s good, it’ll make up for your GPA, which could be a bit better.

Great chance at Barnard and NYU. Columbia, like centennial13 said, is a reach for everyone, and I’m not sure about UPenn.

What other schools are you considering? I second that Brandeis suggestion, it’s an awesome school.

Scores are a bit low, as is gpa.

Stick to your ECs and get those scores up!

I am #2 in a class of 15 (tiny private school), but #1’s GPA is a 94, which is only 1 number above me. And my GPA for core classes is a 94-95, but I take 4 religion classes in which I get mostly A-'s so my cumulative GPA comes out to a 93.

Barnard: Don’t know enough about it
NYU: Match
UPenn: Reach
Columbia: Reach

Thanks! Ya it’s ok a lot of people don’t know a lot about Barnard

Your EC’s make up a ton for your slightly low GPA. Remember that most admissions are holistic, and those activities (as the college sees them) are where your heart lies. Make sure you bring them out on your essays.

NYU:match
UPenn:reach
Columbia: high reach
Barnard:???

(Thanks for chancing me)

you’ll get in at Barnard and most likely NYU columbia is a reach and UPenn is a reach as well, you and I have pretty similar stats. Good luck
