What do you think?
Statistically I know it's likely.
I know I have an advantage because I'm a white female that doesn't just want to major in business.
I haven't tried to pull any strings in fear of a potential disaster.
Thanks for all your help!!!

Yeah its a Match

Thanks! What makes you say so? Just curious.

yep you can get in. At least i think so. Just around two weeks to go so brace yourself :D

Thanks! What makes you think so? Curious;)

your instate, have a good gpa, decent sat score, women applying for a stem major. thats probably why you will get in, i would be surprised if you dont

Got it. Thanka

I don’t like to chance people because I’m applying as well, but last year’s SAT average was a 2150, and it’s expected to go up even higher this year. I also heard that there’s a general SAT cutoff (with a few exceptions here and there). And even though you claim that the referral wasn’t your fault, it doesn’t matter, you still got a referral and that’s all the colleges see. Both of the people that chanced you above me are international students…so keep that in mind. It’s really ambitious for you to say that statistically it’s likely for you to get in when your SAT score is below average.

“I know I have an advantage because I’m a white female that doesn’t just want to major in business.”

Don’t mean to be a downer but…GT doesn’t take your major into consideration when deciding admittance. Also I’m not sure how the possession of alcohol is going to go over. I think it’s going to depend on what is on your transcript. It may end up being a huge red flag. And may2013sat is right. There were a lot of kids with better SAT’s/GPA’s than yours that didn’t get in last year. So I wouldn’t say you were a likely instead I’d say you have a decent chance but it’s going to depend on what the other applicants SAT’s are and how GT view’s the ISS. BTW I don’t think it’s possible to “pull strings” to get in to GT and it’s not a good thing to say about the college you are applying to…

It’s kind of cynical to believe that they have an SAT cutoff that is around 2000. You seem well versed in statistics, and realize that 25% of the entering class had SATs below 2000. My main issue is your alcohol thing. Have you applied to another college and been accepted? Ideally this would be UGA. If no other college cared about it, then I wouldn’t worry about it. Is 2010 good enough? Probably not this year. The average SAT might go to 2180-2200.

I would say it is low reach only because of your alcohol thing. That might be a real problem.

The 25% below 2000 are probably athletes

Haha 25% of the freshman are athletes. You must live in a dream world.

I know plenty of people who have been in the bottom 25% of people, and none of them are athletes.

Im a black female applying to GT and I plan on going into Civil engineering. i have a 2010 SAT as well. I hope we both get in! 3 more days!!! i think GT is a match fpr ypu btw. Don’t listen to the debbie downers^^

Thanks @socoengineer. Yeah that was a bit ahm. Rude. Of Debbie downer I mean. Not you. I understand constructive criticism but yikes
