Chance Me

Hey I am an incoming senior in California. I am very interested in attending UCLA. My major will most likely be in the realm of Liberal Arts/Humanities. For my Sophomore and Junior years my GPA: UW: 3.95 W: 4.02 (Or around this) Freshman year I only got one B.
SAT score: 2150
Math: 650
Reading: 700
Writing: 800
By end of senior year:
- English Honors
-2 years of AP English
- AP Human Geography
-AP Latin

My extracurriculars are strong:
- Tennis team varsity since sophomore year, finished second in city tournament of public schools this spring
- Radio at my school since sophomore year
- Journalism since sophomore year (probably will be editor-in-chief this year, normal editor now)
- Sunday school teaching since freshman year every sunday
- Little league umpire
- Internship at non-profit organization
- Selective, 20 person, 15 month leadership program
- Given one of two honorable awards at my middle school for service
- Many hours of babysitting
- Multiple summers as a counselor in training at different summer camps
- I have played guitar for a few years

I will have good essays and hopefully good recommendations. What are my chances of getting into UCLA?

Your ECs seem to be all over the place, I would place emphasis on your passion for working with kids as that seems to be the only thing you’ve pursued extensively. Leave off the middle school thing as well. They don’t ask for recommendations (unless they changed that recently). And remember that they look for different things in your essay than schools that use the common app.

Based on all this I’d say you have a 56.485% chance of getting in ;)
