I am looking to transfer to Marist College and enroll in the Media Studies and Production with a concentration in Game Design, but am a bit worried about my chances to be accepted. I did reasonably well in high school, but during my freshman year at the University of Houston I was struggling with depression and social anxiety, and that really undid everything I had accomplished before. I also had some bad stints at HCC, but since last summer I've been receiving therapy and have made significant progress. For example from last summer to the present I have earned a GPA of 3.25, though my cumulative is of 2.15.

You sound just like the kid of student Marist is looking for! You should give a call to the admissions office (845-575-3000)! By calling and showing your interest that is a greta way to show Marist that you lvoe the school! Also come on a tour and maybe even do a shadow day!

Thanks, I definitely will call them then. I really appreciate it!

Your GPA and extracurricular activities definitely make you eligible to become a Marist student, but be sure to show Marist how interested you really are! We offer tours, open houses, and shadow days, where you have the chance to get to know a Marist student, ask any questions you may have, and attend one of their classes. Your interest in the school really plays a role in the eyes of Marist admissions, so be sure to make it known!
You have great credentials and would be a nice fit here at Marist. I am also in the media Studies major here and love it so much . The classes and knowledge I’m taking are helping me to learn more about the business and what I want to do in the future wit hit overall. I am on the TV and Film side of it but I hear the game design program is very well received and students come out of it knowing so much about how to create there own video games and graphics for them and things of that nature. Best of Luck!
