and also, with all this, what do I need to score MINIMUM on all the aforementioned tests?

thanks for reading!!

I can’t see any school you’ve listed denying you. If these are your real unexaggerated credentials, shoot for the stars.

thanks for replying!!
and yea haha these are my credentials. any areas for improvement though do you see?

and with all this whats the minimum i could scrape by with on the sats to still be in a good position

*?

bump !

You are a strong candidate, but ALL IVY League schools are reaches for EVERYONE, and you haven’t yet gotten an official SAT score yet. Get that 2300+ and keep the As, and you will likely be admitted to at least one of those top schools. You will probably be rejected somewhere though. Pick your favorite and apply ED.

You’re clearly a very dedicated/active student and person and that will serve you well no matter where you end up. :slight_smile: I ivy leagues expect you to be strong in every category and then go an extra mile beyond that. They literally wont be happy until you’ve cured cancer, especially not in the regular decision round. My close friend is the valedictorian in my school. Her gpa is about 98 unweighted and her SAT score was 2300+. She was very active in the school and community but was also rejected from a bunch of ivies and top schools. She wasn’t accepted into any of her top choices, although shes going to a pretty competitive and good school next year. No one has a good shot, honestly, because for every model student theres thousands of others with the same scores hoping for the same spots. I’d definitely suggest looking into some less competitive schools as well. It’s really a crapshoot with the ivies and no one can give you an accurate chance.

stepay:
yeah, i realize that, which is why im applying too to a bunch of safetys here in canada. i actually got my score yesterday and ended up with a 2280, so it seems im not quite there yet with the sats :((( but i only decided to take them and started practicing a month before the exam so i think if i take the next set i might be able to bump my score!

and yeah im really conflicted as to whether i should apply ED for brown, yale, or hopkins
suggestions as to which i might have the best shot at? :confused:

thank you so much for replying !!

aude22:
haha thanks :)))
and wow dang thats awful! i hope shes doing well now. just out of curiosity, wheres she going now?
and yeah im applying to canadian schools as safetys
but thanks for all the advice! i really appreciate it

wow these emoticons are awful can i edit the post?

bump ! =)

Before applying ed you have to make sure you can afford the school. Ivy league schools do not offer merit scholarships.

yeah, i know, but luckily money won’t be a problem for any of the school’s mentioned above

lucky you :wink: apply ed based on where you want to go the most.

Since you have safeties in Canada, you now need to look at what appeals to you in your reaches (and any school with an admission rate of 20% and less is “reach for everyone”), then look for these characteristics in colleges (universities and LACs) ranked between 30 and 60 + excellent honors colleges.
Since money isn’t a concern, look at the UCs, UMichigan, Penn State, Pitt, UVA, William&Mary, VTech, UF, UGA, and their honors college.
You don’t really need to retake that SAT, focus on Subject tests that highlight both mastery of material and versatility in academic prowess (ie., one stem, one humanities/social science, one more).

@a20171
yeah :wink: im super grateful

my top choices then out of those would be H, Y, Brown
which of those with my stats do i have the best chance at? so torn !!

@MYOS1634

thanks for replying!!

and thanks so much for recommending all those colleges! since im from canada im not quite too adept in the american college scene so i appreciate it

and sorry, i probably dont know this for the same reason, but whats an honours college?

and would bio, chem, and french look good as subject tests?

Yes, those three would be a good combination. :slight_smile:

An Honors College is a special program within a larger university that selects the top 10% or top 5% admitted students and offers them special opportunities. The exact offerings vary depending on colleges, which is why you have to investigate, but they can include special, discussion-based classes instead of the large lecture hall-based classes, special seminars, research opportunities, scholarships, special (better) dorms, priority registration, a special lounge to study in, free printing, a special computer lab, special trips, free passes to see plays, meeting famous authors or leaders… Many “good” Honors colleges offer the first 5, then the other things depend on the college, its location, etc.Most public flagships and many universities, regional or private, also offer this to a select few.
