i’m a rising senior and am having a hard time determining which schools are reach schools and which are target schools! i’d really appreciate if you’d check out my stats and help me find out my chances at UT BHP (McCombs), Northwestern (Kellogg), Notre Dame (Mendoza), and UPenn (Wharton).
i go to a pretty competitive public school so my rank is 29/670 with a gpa of 5.6. i got a 2330 on my SAT (2350 composite), 35 on ACT, 790 SAT math subject test, 780 world history subject test, 760 spanish subject test, 5s on all AP exams except apush and chem (i got 4s). 226 on PSAT.
my main extracurricular is debate, i’ve competed at the state level twice and at multiple national tournaments, and i’m going to be the captain of my event next year. i started a club at my old middle school where i introduce the students to debate and teach them about public speaking and argumentation. other than that, i have played the piano for 11 years and have played at festivals, and i’ve taken art lessons for 10 years on the side. i’m also in nhs and nshs (national spanish honor society). i write sometimes and have had poetry published in a couple of literary magazines.
this summer i did a 5 week internship at a property tax lending firm and i’ve also shadowed at a couple of clinics. i’ve competed in two business camps/competitions (3 Day Startup and TiE Young Entrepreneurs).
i’m worried i don’t have enough community service! i volunteered 200 hours one summer when i was a counselor at a camp for people with mental and physical disabilities, but that’s my only major service project (i have some minor volunteering on the side like grading papers and meals on wheels).
sorry this is so long! and thanks for helping out
