I come to ask for my daughter. We live in Taiwan, so we don’t have much ECs or APs here.
SAT old (with essay): 1760
SAT new (not take essay): 1420 (Math 770, R+W 650)
SAT subject: none
GPA: should be round 3.8-4.0 (not sure)
Class rank: top 15-20%
EC: High school margin band
We are thinking for undergraduate program related with media/communincation, Thanks
There is nowhere near enough information for anyone to go on here in evaluating her chances. What is listed here on its own would be nowhere near enough for her to gain admission. That said, I can’t read her essays, see her full application, evaluate the context of her high school/family background/contribution to campus. These are what are important, not GPA and scores.
‘Chance me’ threads are, for this very reason, pointless exercises. Tell her to put her best foot forward, get the best scores and grades she can in the context of her school, contribute meaningfully to her community, pursue her passions, and then submit her application knowing full well she will most likely be rejected just as 90% of Northwestern applicants are, just so it’s not a surprise or a devastating heartbreak (even more rejections for internationals). Good luck!
UM…I’m from Taiwan also but I think there is plenty of ECs and APs (if you want to study and find the opportunity yourself).
You can take a look of my chance me thread…
By the way, Northwestern University is visiting Taipei American School in 9/4 while the meeting is open. Maybe you could have a talk with the admission officer there.
