Rec letters should be really good since I’ll be getting them from my fav math teacher (luckly had her for all 4 years) and my physics teacher. Would be applying for financial aid, but as far as money goes, I’m blessed enough that my parents told me not to worry about that.

Additionally, my school is a small, competitive magnet school that speciallizes in Maritime and other STEM related courses.

I dont have an intended major in mind yet but I was considering International Studies, Public Heath Studies, Biochemistry, Economics/Finance or Business

Any help is appreciated!!

What is your UC GPA (sophomore + junior grades only) because UCs use this for their admissions decisions. Also, UCLA is not accepting any LORs starting this year.

Your W GPA is very impressive, and your 33 on the ACT is really good (better than your 1420 SAT). I would say that you have a good chance at BC, USC, UCLA (if your UC GPA is good), UCB. FSU is a safety.

Good luck.

@mgarcia17 Your weighted GPA is very good. However, what is your 10-12 only weighted? This is what Berkeley and LA will look at. I think you have good chances at both Berkeley and LA, as well as USC, but the fact that you’re OOS will make it significantly harder. UChicago, WUSTL, and JHU will also be slight reaches since they are competitive privates. Good luck.

That would be $55-58K per year at the UC’s for all four years… Can your parents afford $210K for your college expenses?

Additionally, unless the UC admissions rules have changed, the UC’s use 10th and 11th grade stats for admission requirements:
http://admission.universityofcalifornia.edu/counselors/q-and-a/calculating-gpa/

Your UW GPA is too low for UCLA and Berkeley, but you are full pay, so it’s anyone’s guess.

FYI: By law, California public schools cannot use affirmative action, URM, or anything that distinguishes ethnicity to admit students.
