I’m currently a junior attending a technical/vocational school in PA. I’m studying commercial and advertising arts, but I’m not entirely sure what to study in college. I might be interested in Graphic Design or Animation, and I know CMU has good art programs. I’m against going to an art school due to my indecisiveness about my major. Let me know if I could get accepted to CMU or if you have any other scholl suggestions. Thanks!

SAT: 1400 (680M, 720R) I’m taking it again in June
GPA: W~ 4.1 or 4.2ish (I’ve had all A’s all 4 years)
AP: my school doesn’t offer many, and you cant take any until Junior year
AP US Gov this year, AP Psychology and AP Calc AB next year
Dual Enrollment: I’ve taken ENG 101 (A) and a Web development course (A), taking ENG 102 in the summer and 2-3 more college courses in the spring/fall
Rank: 1/500
EC: Varsity cross country 9,10, captain 11
Track and Field 9,10,11
NHS
NTHS
Will be doing Co-op withing the commercial arts field next year
going to try for student council this yr
Awards: won a couple of awards for art in competition, including a state-wide PSA poster competition

I was recently admitted and a lot of our stats are similar although I’m in engineering which is a bit different. I would say that it could be to your benefit to take more APs. I took 9 but my school only had 7 so i took some online. (VHS is a great option). Bump up your SAT (but you probably know that if you’re taking it again) Id also say to try the ACT, you might like it better who knows. Your sports are great, maybe do one fairly significant and creative thing for volunteering and I think you’ll have a model application. Good Luck!
