I am worried that my sat score is rather low. Also, I am looking to bump my gpa up because I still have 2 semesters that are needed to be added to that accumulative. I am interested in Nursing as a major. Any input?
Only schools I know about are the UCs and BC. I would say all the UCs that you mentioned are high reaches (UCI might be just a reach) unless you could get your sat significantly higher. I know of student rejected with over 4.1s and 1450s declined. Boston college is almost impossible considering their average sat(1430) is more than 200 points higher than yours and I’m guessing their average gpa is around a 4.0. Anyways if you could get your sat higher you might have a chance at any after all it isn’t only the numbers that they care about and it sounds like you have done a lot outside the classroom. Good luck!
Neither UCSD, UCSB, Chapman and LMU have a Nursing program.
Average UC GPA for UCI Nursing was 4.20 and SAT of 1354. Looks like a Reach with a 3.5% acceptance rate.
If a CA resident, look at Azusa Pacific and University of San Francisco for direct admit programs or the many 2+2 programs at the Cal states, Biola, Point Loma, Mt Saint Mary’s.
For OOS, Arizona state and Gonzaga have very good programs.
