Chance me?

Hey guys,

GPA- 4.0 (unweighted; not sure about weighted, but I have only ever gotten one B in any class and that was in AP English for one grading period, so the semester average is an A)

Course at Harvard: I was just bored, and was wondering how much an A in International Law at Harvard would help me for Yale, for Harvard. and in a broader sense at any college. It just popped in my head because the Yale information session guy was talking about how hard it is to get A's at those schools. The course was extremely tough and I was pretty surprised I got an A.

P.S.--I was also wondering how much those spots on the recommendation form that the teacher checks count. Most teachers at our school are very honest and careful in the checking of them, and if you really stop and think about it being the top 1 percent of something is extremely hard and nearly no one is that. My recommenders wrote very good recommendations, but as they are hard in grading, I expect that they will probably be tough with the check marks on the recommendation sheet.

I love Yale!!!!

I applied SCEA.

I tried to only put big things, although there are others. Thanks, and GOOD LUCK TO ALL OF YOU ALSO!!!!

Your stats will be among those with the higher stats in the pile.. if you can make your essays really display you and stick out from the pack, you have a good shot

with any Ivy, it's hit and miss, but your grades will pass all their checkpoints for that stuff.. get the essays nailed, and i think you're going to have a pretty good shot

Cool, thanks. My common application essay talks about the experience of watching my parents' country being bombed in 2006, and the Yale essay is an analogy of life as a journey. I love creative writing, so I also sent in the prologue of a novel I am working on called "Lost Hope."

Either way, you never know with Yale! But knowing I have a shot is good!

yeah, i think you're a compelling candidate for Yale. good luck

You are certainly qualified!
