Chance me!

Hello, I was wondering if any one out there could chance me...it would be appreciated, and I am out of state.

GPA:

About 3.3-3.4(don't know the actual value)...UW
Not sure what it is W...but around 3.8 I suppose.

ECs: Did some research with Physics teacher, and some research with Math teacher (differential geometry), Part time job (9th-10th), about 100 hours of community service, self-teaching Astrophysics 1(which is why my GPA is low...sadly)

SAT:
2010 ( 750 M, 600 CR, 660 W)
Going to retake it in January

Major(s):
Major of Physics and minor in Astronomy....undergraduate

Recs:
Mostly from my Math and Physics teachers....great recs

Decision:
EA

Thanks a lot

Are you a junior looking at applying next year? Ask because you mention applying EA, meaning you would have already applied if a senior and you would thus likely know that for this year’s applicants (and all years) rec letters are not required and ignored if submitted and the Jan SAT is too late for admission for fall 2010 whether applying EA or regular admission (information you would have learned when submitting the application).

As to chances, you should consider it a reach particularly applying for physics, although better chance for being admitted generally if they do not admit you for physics. Though physics is listed as a an arts and sciences major, the department is actually in the engineering college and you need engineering like stats (test score/class rank) to have a good probability of admission. SAT score is in engineering’s middle 50% range but it sounds like your class rank is not in top 10% which is likely the lower end of middle 50% range. If a junior, you still have time to improve your rank and chances.

I’m currently a Junior, but going to apply as EA as a Senior.
