Chance My Daughter, Please...

6 wrong in Math 2C is about 770-780.
For Physics, she can get about....12 wrong and still get an 800.

:p Yes, freckles help just a little bit.

mm...freckles are nice...but i think they'll only get you into some colleges ;)

The fact that I brought up the triviality of ECs is because of many similar cases I have encountered. Here at hopkins, for instance, many income freshmen I asked have very mediocre ECs. Most people told me that they had spent the most amount of time studying for the SATs and bringing up their GPAs. And the majority of the kids I asked had the impression that it was their superior GPAs, class rankings, and SAT scores that provided the key stone of their application. Unless you've done an exception achievement, most ECs are usually glossed over if SAT scores, GPA, and other academic factors are up to scratch. I highly recommend retaking your SAT II scores, as they are usually good representations of one's real academic performance in individual subjects at school. Also, three SAT IIs is the most common number people have, especially when applying for the top-25 colleges. Lastly, don't be discouraged by this seemingly laborious task. Take risks. Apply to some reach schools like Harvard, Yale, Princeton, if that's where you really want to go. Now, after getting in, I actually regret that I didn't have the guts to take risks and apply to the school I had always wanted to go. Put those worries and tedious advice aside. Just go for it. Take the risks, since it's an once in a life time opportunity after all. To summarize my point, I want to quote Robin Williams in his famous film "Dead Poet's Society," the part where Williams is constantly telling his students to "SEIZE THE DAY." Just don't let this one and only chance slip through your fingers!
