<p>GPA: 2.7 (a little low. he slacked freshman year and half of sophomore year and now he is beating himself up about it.)
Is taking three AP courses this year.
ACT: 24, but he is taking it over, hoping for around 26-28.</p>
<p>ECs:
Kung Fu for the past three years.
Has entered art into shows, contests, etc. (Currently building a portfolio)
Has consistently held a job.
Has been part of our high school's 'Foreign Film Fest' two years in a row (his videos were selected to be a part of them).
Gymnastics 10th, 11th, and 12th grade.
Was in a school theatre production this year.</p>
<p>He would be going into Denison's studio art program, if that makes a difference.</p>
<p>I think normally it would be a reach, but they will also be looking at his portfolio so maybe his chances will increase based on how much they like his portfolio. I think his ecs look good especially for someone interested in the fine arts. Are there any other schools or areas he is looking at? Best of luck!</p>
<p>His SAT score is in the range for Loyola and it looks good that he is taking challenging courses. Some other schools in that area that have what he is looking for are Bradley, Bowling Green and Cincinnati. Also if he is willing to travel east SUNY Purchase is really strong in the arts and it is not that far from NYC. I think his stats are well within the range for these schools. Best of luck!</p>
