Chance My Friend? Psychology Major!

<p>Okay so both my friend and I applied for early decision and we are quite excited about hearing our admission decision in about two weeks! My friend is not very optimistic that she will be accepted so I was wondering what her chances might be. Please give your very HONEST opinion! Her are some of her stats:</p>

<p>3.4 gpa (weighted)
23 ACT
Has taken honors classes and 3 AP classes
3 years marching band
3 years school dance group
3 years extra curricular choir group
Volunteer at church
3 mission trips (out of country)
Has worked in a medical office as a receptionist for 4 years
She also is a great writer and her essays were quite good</p>

<p>I know her scores and gpa are low, but do you all think she has a chance of getting into LAS for psychology with everything else added into the picture?</p>

<p>Ouch, that ACT is really going to hurt. I’d say it will be even a reach to get into general studies. How did she do on her AP tests?</p>

Wait, that GPA is Weighted?!?! out of 4? What’s her Unweighted?</p>

<p>Well two of the AP classes are being taken this year, but last year she got a 5 on the AP Psychology Exam, and yeah I know its kind of low but I know her unweighted barely changes her gpa.</p>

<p>So being accepted is kinda a reach, but what do you think her chances are of being deffered when the decisions come out in 2 weeks??</p>
