Hey guys, I heard UT wasn’t so good about aid, so I’m wondering if my stats are good enough to get me any of the scholarships at UT (want to go to UT if I can get scholarships, otherwise might just take the free tuition to UH)
At UT, id like to major Plan ii and BME, and minor in comp sci and art
Stats: http://talk.qa.collegeconfidential.com/what-my-chances/2074554-honest-chance-for-all-my-reaches-crapshoot-but-do-i-have-a-small-chance.html#latest
Have you been accepted to UT? I recommend that you check with them. Every student and situation is unique, and scholarships don’t necessarily go to the students with the highest stats. We cannot predict what scholarships and financial aid, if any, you will receive from the university.
well I have auto-admission, but I have yet to apply, I was wondering if people with similar stats received any merit scholarships.
actually i just realized that this thread is a little dumb…oops.
University of Texas Financial Aid (2015–16) statistics
Percentage of New Students Receiving Aid: 60 percent
Percentage of New Students Receiving Types of Aid
Grants: 45 percent
Loans: 39 percent
Average Amount of Aid
Grants: $11,021
Loans: $5,432
Same stats as my daughter pretty much. #10/near 700; ACT 34. You have more STEM related ECs. She was admitted for BME at UT.
She got $0.00 in merit $$ from UT. We would not have qualified for any need based aid other than federal loans.
Two thoughts: she declined her admission offer within days so maybe $$ would’ve come her way if she would’ve waited it out? Also, she did not apply to Honors and from reading the threads that looks like it may have helped.
