Chance of getting into Oxbridge

I am a junior high school student in the United States. I would like to go to Oxbridge to study Natural Sciences. I've heard that US applicants have to emphasize SAT and AP scores. Which AP tests are relevant to Natural Sciences? I plan on taking or have taken AP Biology, Chemistry, Physics B, Environmental Science, Calculus BC, and Statistics. Are all of these relevant? If I get a 5 on all of these tests, and close to perfect on the SAT's(already have 2 800's on SAT II's), what are my chances of getting into an Oxbridge University?

Yes if you do almost perfectly on what they judge you on, you will get in. If you don’t its less likely…

I don’t know if its the same for us applicants but UK applicants can’t apply to both otherwise they’ll both reject you… don’t know if it works in the same way for you but I’d decide which one you like best just to be on the safe side :)

When I said Oxbridge, I didn’t mean I was planning on applying to both. I meant that I wanted to go to one of them and haven’t yet decided which one.

Are all 6 of my above AP’s relevant to Natural Sciences?

Also, I know you don’t have to take classes unrelated to your “course” at Oxbridge, but am I allowed to?

Bump Bump Bump

Hello? Over 80 views and no one else can tell me anything?

If you’re interested in natural science, I’d say you apply to Cambridge. The admit rate for cambridge is something like 20% - 25%. Cambridge applicants tend to self-sellect, almost everyone has very high grades.

Isn’t it 10% for foreigners?

I’m not sure if it’s 10% for international students. But during my time, it was like 1 for every 4 or 5 applicants.

I see. Any other info?

You will not be taking classes outside of your course. And, yes, 10% is the rough figure for internationals.

10% is not bad. It’s about the same level as Harvard and Stanford
