Chance of getting into RISD

<p>Hi everyone. I have an overall high school GPA of 3.0 UW, 3.72W (I know RISD doesn't really take into account what honors/AP classes I took) and I took all honors, AP Lit, AP Lang, and taking AP Studio Art this year.</p>

<p>I know the minimum requirement of RISD is 3.3 UW GPA with their own way calculating my GPA, but do I still have a chance? </p>

<p>My portfolio is full of technical, direct observational drawings, as well as conceptual artworks with variety. I used all sorts of mediums, and I feel like it's a solid, strong portfolio.</p>

<p>Do I have a chance of getting admitted? (I submitted everything in already and I'm just waiting for the decisions to be e-mailed....keeping my fingers crossed!)</p>

<p>Your work shows patience and dedication. I love how you responded to the water assignment. Your set up is rad, with the flashlight shining up into the bowl! If I were an admissions person it would certainly make me notice you…and get a sense of how you think. It made me laugh - in a good way.</p>

<p>If your more conceptual work shows a strong voice and individuality, that will help your chances. Check out the Lucy’s RISD Admissions 2012 on Facebook. You can bond with all of the other kids who are sitting with their fingers crossed as well.</p>

<p>Thanks and ohhhh I will definitely check that out! And yay I’m glad it made you laugh :smiley: I applied to SVA, RIT, and SAIC. Just got an e-mail for SVA today actually…so relieved!</p>

<p>When did you apply to SVA? SAIC for sure you will get accepted. 70% acceptance rate.</p>

<p>SVA I applied…11pm EST on February 1st? and I really hope so! SAIC looks like an awesome school as well.</p>

<p>Thank you!! Well…I’m taking graphic design in school right now and I find it something as something I’ll enjoy doing so :)</p>
