Make sure you apply as a special needs student. Also, are you in state or out of state? You GPA is probably too low, and you SAT is a fair amount below the average for UConn, but you do have some great EC’s. If you are in state and apply as a special needs student, i’d say you have a small chance, it would still be a lot of a reach, but I don’t know how much of a bump having tourettes will give you. If you are out of state, there is even less of a chance unfortunately. Sorry to say that you have a very slim chance over all.

Chance me please:

caruso, I dont think having tourettes constitutes as being a special need student. I have a friend who has tourettes and she is in all of the traditionall classes but it does have a major effect on your life and I would suggest writing about how you have overcome it. Your Ecs and having a job will definitely work into your advantage but I think you have a slim chance because of your grades and SAT scores but you do still have a chance. i would recommend going to a community college for a year or two to sharpen your skills and save alot of money, then transfert UConn and depending on your grades maybe even somewhere better.

@invader, it depends on the case. I know 2 kid who has tourettes and are in special needs classes, while I know 1 that is taking regular classes. It depends on the severity.

its not that bad… i mean its still really hard to do everyday things and its noticeable… i’m not in any special ed classes. i’m in all college prep courses. i still think i have some sort of chance. its just probably low. but my essay is really unique and heart felt. my mom was in tears. also uconns journalism program isn’t as popular. that gives me a bit more of a chance

University of Connecticut is currently my first choice for college
I am junior in high school right now
I have a 2.8 GPA
I have not taken SAT’s yet but I plan to take SAT classes
I am also a Boy Scout working to get my eagle and an acolyte at my church
MY extra curriculars are:

Freshman Year- Soccer in the fall, Boy Scouts
Sophomore Year- Soccer, Boy Scouts
Junior Year- I am doing Track and Field in the spring, FBLA, Boy Scouts

What are my chances, of getting into Uconn?

Just so you know I am still a junior so my GPA can change
Feedback will be greatly appreciated, thanks
