If 3.75 is fully-weighted (rather than UC GPA, which is partially-weighted), then I'll say "match to very, very slight reach" only on condition that you raise your SAT score. It'd be nice to know how many CS hours you got too.

i dont understand what your saying about gpa...

Three types of GPA: Weighted takes in account all AP, Honors extra GPA points. Unweighted does not take in account extra GPA points at all. UC GPA takes in account only UC accepted courses A-G (not including crap like Physical Education) and only takes into account extra points from 8 Honors/AP classes.

yeah my gpa is uc gpa..i excluded pe and health and that sorts of crap...
and i dont have any honor class and have only 5APs...(chem,bio,stats,euro,gov)

and thanks for reply...i really want to go to ucsd!!!

I'll say match if you raise your SAT to about 2000. And what about community service??!?

not much...too be honest...about 20hours...

hmm, slight reach IMO.

But I have a question about UC GPA.
dnduswo says he has 5 APs
so would that be 10 (-2) extra points? Since the AP Class is two semesters?
Or is it still just 5 extra points?

i thought it can be up to 16semesters..

If thats the case, then my UC GPA is higher then I thought.
Hmm...

Oh, that's true. Haha it's only been months and I forgot already. (8 semesters only) After the revealing of the community service hours, I'll say slight reach too.

So hockeydemon, by you refering your own UC GPA, I take it that your still in HS. Why are you chancing dnduswo?

Ok, thanks Filabusta. UC GPA is the same :(
Try and get some community service hours.
Good Luck dnduswo

so my gpa is even lower than 3.75??

Based on what others said, I thought I may give my input and opinion.
Then again its true I don't really know. But yea, CS hours wouldn't hurt.

thanks...i thought ucsd is very good school for pre-dentistry other than ucla, but since ucla is too tough for me...ucsd is my first choice...

Your SAT needs to go up (like everyone else said...) Any community service??? Without any, I sure hope your SAT score goes up a whole lot.

Reach. Come back when your SAT score gets higher...

Yep everything at UCSD admissions is point-based. They assign numbers to frickin' everything. I'm surprised they don't just call us by our PID's there.

"How's it going A02827435? Oh, I'm great A293727432!!!! How's your girlfriend, A01984783?"

It's not like UCLA or Cal where 3 sob-story...ahem....heartfelt, sentimental essays can save the day.

A sob-story could you get you 300 points...

i didnt even know what kind of test sat was..
