Chance specifically for Princeton EA next year? Will chance back.

SAT I: 2340 (780R, 800M, 760W)

SAT IIs: Math II (800), Physics (800), Chem (780), Spanish (770), French (760), US History (760)

APs: 5s on Chem, Calc BC, Physics B (self studied), Language and Comp, Lit and Comp (self studied), Macro (ss), Micro (ss), Comparative, Psychology (ss), Environmental Science (ss), Stat (ss), Spanish
4s on French (ss), US History, US Gov and Politics (ss)

Important extracurriculars:
-Raised 15k with a fundraiser I developed and ran myself.
-By December 2014 will have taught myself French, Dutch, Afrikaans, Portuguese to fluency. Also Mandarin and Italian to an intermediate level. (spending the summer abroad on my own cash, not my parents', to develop language and do community service).
-USAMO qualifier.
-Debate Captain, Environmental Club Captain

Long term goal: I want to work within the UN. Or really anywhere that combines all my skills and also gives back to people.

UW GPA: 4.0 (but my transcript is littered with A-'s from AP Calculus, Honors Human Anatomy, and AP Chem).

Class rank: 10/410 (top 3%)

I hope this is objectively impressive, but I'm a white male from the northeast and I've heard there are dozens of people who could easily take my place. Is there anything I can still do to make my application look more impressive?

Thanks so much guys! Post links to your threads and I'll chance away.

I think it’s cool how you paid for yourself to travel abroad–shows how you are committed and serious, as well as motivated, to going to other countries and pursuing your interests. Try emphasizing this when you write your essays (personally I think it stands out, dunno if everybody will agree). Your SAT score and GPA are amazing btw  Just make sure you represent yourself as a unique person. Ivy League schools look for people who stand out. Think to yourself “how do I stand out in sea of thousands of applicants?” Also, definitely explain to your interviewer or in your essays how all the activities you’ve done reflect your career. Think “what am I doing this for?” other than the fact that it is for college.

Really god chances. You dont need to worry about grades or test scores at this point because you’ve already proven you can do excellent academic work. like the above poster said, try to focus on what makes you special, which in this case is your languages and studying abroad.

You try too hard. There is your problem. Try doing some stuff that cannot go on your CV.

@Mandalorian Could you elaborate? In my eyes I do what I love :/

It just looks like you’re doing all this to get into some college lol

Very high admission chance (by Princeton standards). By the way, great username- estas intentando matricularse a la Universidad

@BA1015CA Good point. I need to learn to communicate authenticity to the admissions officers so that I’m not just some drone B-)

I agree with that fully. How would you (superficially) characterize yourself? Nerdy, jock, normal guy, quirky?

I’m a weird guy who doesn’t really care what people think. I like being funny and hanging out with my friends. Nerdy for sure, but everyone at school thinks of me as the kid that doesn’t pay attention in class and still gets good grades. I just read the book during class and it’s easier for me that way.

I talk back if I don’t agree. Sassy nerd?

Forgot, @BA1015CA

Hahah I love it. I can see that with the languages totally. I say you’re in. But if you’re set on the ivies apply to a few more to ensure you get into one. Good luck

You’re in man lol. Please chance me for JHU

I mean it is Princeton so nothing is a guarantee. I would definitely elaborate on your passion of working with the UN and use your study abroad and language skills to supplement it. Show YOU did this for YOU and no one else, it will make you stand out more and not seem like a “drone.”
Chance Back please http://talk.collegeconfidential.com/what-my-chances/1601533-chance-me-for-my-schools.html#latest</a></p>

and chance me back! @intentando

I think you can definitely get in to Princeton. Your multilingual skills and drive to succeed should place you in a very good position compared to most other applicants. Best of luck!

Also, please chance me back: http://talk.collegeconfidential.com/what-my-chances/1612160-chance-me-for-good-and-rising-northeast-schools.html#latest</a></p>

Don’t hate, but is teaching yourself a language classes as Extra Curricular? Others are good, though. Good chance with them all, I’d say.

You are definitely in for Princeton, EA is always very tough for IVY’s as my school has had many come back who have scores just like you and got deferred for EA. But your scores are even a tad higher than theres were, and even if EA doesn’t work out, you are a shoe in for acceptance. Good Luck!

Also my scores are nothing compared to yours so I am not the most knowledgeable when it comes to chancing you, but like I said, from what I have heard about acceptance to Princeton you are definitely a fit.

I wouldn’t say you’re a shoo-in for Princeton like these others are saying. Your GPA is literally perfect and your SAT near-perfect. You have a great, interesting, impressive set of ECs. However, like some have said, you need to prove in your interviews and essays that you didn’t do all that great stuff just to look better on some college application. Let yourself shine through in your application and make the admissions people remember you and want you. I’d hate to see a qualified applicant like you not get into a great institution just because of a crapshoot, but remember that it does happen and not to get too too attached to Princeton because of it.
I wouldn’t be at all surprised if you got in, though. Your stats, both objective and subjective, are very impressive. Good luck! :)

You have a really good job to get into Princeton. Your GPA and SAT scores are what they seek. Your ECs are also good. Good luck
