Chance Stanford/Brown

Hi!

I am debating if I should apply to Stanford for an Art major as a super super super far reach.
Another extremely high reach is the Brown-RISD Dual Degree Program.

Please judge my resume below and tell me if I should take a shot at these reach dream schools. I'm hesitant because my gpa is not up to their standard.

Thank you for reading this long post!
I greatly appreciate any advice/suggestions/help I can get.

Apply! You have a great chance even though your GPA is a little on the low side because of your awesome accomplishments in the arts. I really think that that makes you stand out. It’s obviously not a slam dunk but you have a shot for sure! Good luck

We can’t chance you without seeing a portfolio. Do you have a DeviantArt or something else we could look at?

I specialize in oil paints (will learn soft pastels soon! ); I do not use DeviantArt.

My paintings come up in google images when I type in my name, so I’m trying to preserve anonymity. Is there any way I can keep my stuff confidential while showing you art pieces though? because images can be googled and all of my paintings won contests that release actual names of competitors.

Looks good! You should try starting an art club at your school and doing some things around the community with that!

Stanford looks for TOP artists in the country who have the potential to make an impact in the world…if you have the exceptional talent they are seeking…your GPA imperfections can be overlooked…

…If you are a senior, just focus on writing great ESSAYS and getting the best RECOMMENDATIONS.

…They not only look for TOP artists, they look for TOP musicians, dancers, actors, writers, Latin scholars, Olympic level/top nationally recruited athletes, scientists, engineers, and those who genuinely believe they can change the world…those who are NOT afraid to think outside the “box” and challenge the status quo…

…if you are of this “mold” then put away any fear of applying to Stanford! Best wishes.

You can upload images to a photo sharing website and either post or PM links to the pieces…
