<p>O.o Figure you are really keen on a particular major? We all know that no matter how wonderful our stats are, our prospects at these universities are never certain. Have you considered any other alternatives (besides, eh, NUS?)</p>

NUS shouldn't disappoint you with biochemistry, though I understand other factors must be discouraging you from local universities... :-S I'm applying to NUS and NTU for computer science. Even then, some people with 40+ IB points did not make it to these institutions. This is no easy game. You should be comfortable entering NUS though.
For the above US universities that you are vying for... I feel compelled to ask what your alternative would be if you cannot realize your dreams..?</p>
