That 45/45 on the IB is impressive.

HYM: Reach
Chicago: Low reach (dependent on your essays)
Duke, JHU: Match

bump bump!

i heard those schs really like IB, so i agree that 45 is really impressive :)
btw where are you from? i mean nationality

I'm Indonesian haha

bump buummpp

Don't you have IB exams to study for? If you're so bored, chat with me on MSN. :D

no offense but i think you are super competitive for an indonesian... that's good enough reason for them to take you in :D

haha none taken! i know the stereotype!

it's not about stereotypes, it's about how competitive different segments of the international pool are. if you are singaporean, you will be facing very fierce competition, like from our dear fiona_ above

but if i were to apply, wouldn't I be competing against Singaporeans?

your achievements will be gauged against singaporean standards, but you will be admitted under the indonesian pool :)

i see...haha i didn't know that. thanks!

bump! any opinions?

O.o Figure you are really keen on a particular major? We all know that no matter how wonderful our stats are, our prospects at these universities are never certain. Have you considered any other alternatives (besides, eh, NUS?)

Yeap, I'm keen on doing chemistry or biochemistry and i really really don't wanna go to NUS. Are you from JC atomcrusader?

actually, NUS is not THAT bad, that said i think you stand good chance for your schs :D
are you applying early anywhere?

XD Your schoolmate here.
NUS shouldn't disappoint you with biochemistry, though I understand other factors must be discouraging you from local universities... :-S I'm applying to NUS and NTU for computer science. Even then, some people with 40+ IB points did not make it to these institutions. This is no easy game. You should be comfortable entering NUS though.
For the above US universities that you are vying for... I feel compelled to ask what your alternative would be if you cannot realize your dreams..?

Well there is the UK i suppose. But i really really hope not NUS

hey E ;)

I don't see why you're worried.
