if you have enough knowledge to accurately chance other people, then why do you need someone to chance you? just people with no idea talking to other people with no idea.

That’s flawed logic. If you expect people who’re chancing to have “no idea” what they’re talking about, and if I fall into the norm of people who chance and ask to be chanced, then clearly I (hypothetically) don’t “have enough knowledge to chance” myself. Moreover, you assume chancing has the singular goal of revealing to otherwise unknowing people what their chances are. While I have somewhat of a conception of my chances, I benefit from posting this (if someone would actually respond) for two reasons:

 1. People are always attempting to justify their own actions and qualifications despite obvious flaws. In this way, people are inherently biased toward themselves. “Chancing” helps to destroy such biases and unearth some kind of conclusive consensus.
 2. If one does already know his/her relative chances, “chancing” can help inspire some courage. I often fluctuate from having lots to little confidence about admissions, and chancing helps to even that out. (if that makes sense)

Having said that, i mean no disrespect :] I envy you for being in Vandy; it’s been my first choice school since 6th grade.

ALSO, if someone’s gonna read this and actually chance, I applied ED2 and have a 2-Person Legacy (if that affects your answer).

i’m gonna bump this thread for ya, dude.
decent chances
