Chancellor's Scholars? (quick 'chance me' sort of thing)

I was kind of iffy about going to U of I but I found out about the Chancellor's Scholar's program and I'm intrigued. Can I have a quick assesment on my stats if it's enough to get me in (on a probability scale, obviously no one knows for sure, etc etc)?

Essays: N/A

Can't wait until April. Congrats to those who already got in and good luck to those who, like me, are sitting on eggshells!

Two questions.

1) Have you already been admitted to the university or are you waiting for the February 15th deadline?

2) Why are your essays N/A?

I’m asking because I’m a freshman in the Chancellors/Campus Honors Program (same thing) and know a lot about the admissions process given that students get to assist in it. I know for a fact that we really only look at students who applied/were accepted priority knowing that they have the highest intent of actually attending U of I. Secondly, acceptance is first based on stats, then on essays and extracurriculars, so the fact that your essays are N/A confuses me.

Already applied in December, but on Regular Decision.

Essays are N/A because well… 300 words? Not much to say. I think mine were excellent as far as skimpy little essays go but I didn’t know U of I relied THAT much on them. All the other ones were reviewed and said to be very very good to the other colleges I applied to.

And thank you for the insight. You can still apply freshman year if you have the correct stats, GPA, and whatnot, can’t you? I’d really like to get in because I’ve talked to a few other people and it seems like a great fit :)
