Personal: White male, straight, catholic
Location: big suburb of Pittsburgh
High School: First high school was Mount Lebanon High School (*Public Schools USA * rated as one of only two schools in Pennsylvania earning "A's," top 100 public HS in country. maintained a 3.25 unweighted, 3.43 weighted gpa there. Then, due to consistent migraine headaches I transferred to the Pennsylvania Cyber Charter School for my junior year, where I had a 3.67 unweighted. I’m expected a 3.8 unweighted for my senior year.

SAT I: 1460 (670m, 790v)
SAT II’s: Taking Math Level I and Writing Nov. 6th
ACT: 32
GPA: 3.5 unweighted. Freshman-3.25, Sophomore-3.33, Junior-3.66, Senior-3.8
Rank: High school doesn’t have it.
Honors classes: 6
APs: No AP’s, aren’t offered at the cyber school. I did take an Intro to Business course through my community college, which is the hardest course offering the cyber school has. I will be taking at least 2 more of these courses second semester senior year.

I should have a couple good recs, and I'm usually pretty good with essays.

Whew, now that that’s through, here are the schools I’d like some feedback about:

Georgetown University
Cornell University
Washington University in St. Louis
George Washington University
Miami University (OH)
Penn State University
Elon University
John Carroll University
Wake Forest
University of Maryland, College Park

What are my chances at these schools? I’m not sure where I stand as far as safe/realistic/reach now that I found out my October SAT score was 1460 (my previous score was 1300) – Wash U and Cornell I’ve always liked but I didn’t think I had a shot at originally. My dream was Georgetown, but I doubt I have the total package they’re looking for there.

Again thanks for any responses.

You're in at Miami........Miami is awesome. have u visited? ull love it

Yeah I visited a couple weeks ago. It's definitely in my top 3 that I've visited (Miami, Elon, GW)

bump...anyone?

: / please?

okay.........

What's your intended major? It looks like you're in at PSU no matter what, and Cornell looks pretty good as well although the math SAT i is a bit low. Depends on your major.

Undecided really right now. I'm interested in Political Science, Journalism, Accounting and some other things but I'm not close to committing to anything yet.

Physical Therapy also looks interesting to me, but as of right now I'll probably just have to see what I like my freshman year and go with it.

You're in at George Washington.

Thanks for the replies so far...what about the other schools?

Georgetown University
Cornell University
Washington University in St. Louis
Penn State University
Elon University

You are probably safe at Elon, that SAT score is good and way above their average. It is a really pretty campus too.

in at Penn State

Just based on SATs, you'll be fine for Wake and Elon.

If I were you apply ED cornell if you really like it, early accept rate is 63% as opposed to 26% regular.
